Quick Ways To Boost Your Workout Progress

If you’ve been doing the same workout in the gym over and over again and are starting to notice results just aren’t coming as quickly, it’s time to change something up so that you can move closer to success.

Continual changes in a workout are vital if you’re going to beat progress plateaus and make sure that you never skip a beat as far as ongoing results are concerned.

Let’s look at some quick ways to boost your progress instantly by changing one key element of your workout.

Reverse The Exercise Order

The first way to alter your workout is to reverse your exercise order. If you always do squats and then move into a bench press, try leading with a bench press instead.

As simple as it sounds, this can make a big difference on your long term results.

Use A Different Rep Range

Next, consider utilising a different rep range. Taking reps a little higher for a week can bring about greater gains as it shocks your body into doing more work than it’s used to.

Try and keep the weight constant as best as possible as you do so to evoke the greatest training response.

Change Your Rest Break

Another quick and simple way to change your workout around and see faster results is to use a different rest break protocol. If you typically take 2 minutes to rest, bump it down to 60 or 90 seconds. This will force the body to work harder, learning to combat fatigue in a hurry.

Just be sure as you reduce your rest periods, you never let yourself move out of proper form.

So as you can see, changing your workout so that you get back on track to better results doesn’t have to be difficult. Sometimes small adjustments can mean to massive success over time.

Diet Friendly Snacks

Looking for something to cure your mid-afternoon munchies? Snacking can be a part of an overall healthy diet plan as long as you are choosing wisely.

Far too many people let themselves snack on carb-laden foods that are overly processed and contain far too much sugar to be part of any good diet plan.

If you select wisely though, snacks can help manage hunger, provide extra nutrients, and help power you through your day.

Let’s look at some great snack examples. For most people, keeping your snacks around 200-300 calories will be best so that they don’t put you over your target calorie intake for the day.

Tuna Salad

A pop top can of tuna tossed over some lettuce greens and drizzled with a tablespoon of olive oil based salad dressing is a great snack to tide over hunger, boost your protein intake, and control blood sugar levels optimally.

Tuna’s nice since you can easily keep it in your desk at work, so it makes for a go-to snack any time you need it.

Even if you just eat it alone, it’s far better than anything you’d find in the vending machine.

Cheese And Whole Grain Crackers

Next, if you’re  fan of cheese, pick up some reduced fat cheese, which is higher in protein and a great source of calcium and have a slice or two along with some whole grain crackers for carbs.

Choose crackers that are low in sodium and as high in fiber as possible to make this a healthy, well-balanced snack.

Protein Shake And Banana

Next, if you’re in a hurry and have all of two minutes to have your snack, a protein shake with a banana is a good route to go.  The protein powder will help ensure that you meet your daily protein needs and the banana will provide you with some fast burning energy to keep you going throughout the afternoon.

If you like, add a bit of peanut butter to the banana if you have calories to spare, which will further slow-down the digestion process.

Hard Boiled Eggs

Finally, a hard-boiled egg can make for a great snack to take to work or wherever you’re going.  These can be prepared and stored in the fridge for a few days at a time, so are quick and convenient option for those on the go.

Hard boiled eggs are a good source of protein and will contain some fat, so will tide hunger over very quickly.

So keep these top snacks in mind. Snacking can help your progress if you choose wisely.

How To Get Back On Track After A Set Back

If you’ve been on a diet for some time and recently have fallen off the bandwagon, chances are good you aren’t going to be feeling so hot about your progress. You’ll be feeling frustrated that you failed yet again to stick with the programme and feeling rather unconfident in your ability to actually stick to a plan and see the success that you’re after.

Fortunately, you can overcome these feelings. If you know a few helpful tricks to help you get right back on track after a set-back, you too can go on to see the success that you deserve.

Let’s look at the main points to know.

Remind Yourself Of Your Past Progress

The very first thing that you must do is remind yourself of all the past progress you’ve already made while going about your slenderising programme. You’ve see many great successes before along the way, and while this is one small set-back, it doesn’t disprove the fact that you can get results when you put your mind to it.

Remembering all the positive things you’ve done can help prevent you from turning this set-back into a belief that you are completely incapable of success.

Assess The Damage Done Realistically

Next, take a minute to really assess the damage. It’s easy to blow things out of proportion, feeling that just because you let yourself slide this one day, you’ve blown it entirely.

When you look at it more realistically, you’ll see that this isn’t in fact the case and more than likely, this set-back hardly had any influence on your progress whatsoever.

Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. If you get right back on track, this will hardly be a bump in your journey to success.

Remember That No One Is 100% Perfect

Finally, also remind yourself that you cannot expect perfection. No one is perfect – everyone does make mistakes from time to time.

If you expect yourself to always be 100% on form, you’re setting yourself up to fail. Avoid thinking this way and you can move forward from set-backs more easily.

So there you have the main points to keep in mind regarding facing set-backs and overcoming them quickly and easily so that you can carry on and see the results that you desire.

The Cabbage Soup Diet Review

Well known to be a diet for rapidly dropping the pounds, the Cabbage Soup diet plan is one that many people turn to when they want to drop weight in a hurry. But, is it really the most ideal plan for you?

Or, are you just setting yourself up for disaster by using it?

Let’s go over a few of the key things to keep in mind and not regarding this diet approach.

What This Diet Is All About

The cabbage soup diet is not meant to be a long-term approach as it’s to be used over just a seven day period.  You’ll be preparing yourself a big batch of cabbage soup and then serving that over the course of the day along with a few other foods that are allowed on the plan.

The calorie intake you use is incredibly low and is not going to foster a healthy metabolism or a safe rate of weight loss.

What You’ll Eat

This plan has you eating cabbage soup along with one other food requirement.

The diet is set out as follows (each day also allows the soup):

Day One – bananas

Day Two – any additional vegetables

Day Three- any fruits and vegetables

Day Four – up to six bananas and fat free milk

Day Five – up to 450 grams of fish

Day Six – beef and vegetables

Day Seven – brown rice, pure fruit juice, and vegetables

Pros:

  • Will promote rapid slimming
  • Is relatively easy to follow

Cons:

  • Doesn’t provide sound nutrition
  • Will cause fatigue to occur
  • Should not be combined with exercise
  • Will slow the metabolic rate
  • You will gain the weight back after coming off the plan

The Verdict

All in all, the cabbage soup diet is simply not the best diet to consider and is not going to help you move towards your long-term goals in any way, shape or form. It’s definitely one to stay away from if you want to see optimal levels of dieting success.
