Well known to be a diet for rapidly dropping the pounds, the Cabbage Soup diet plan is one that many people turn to when they want to drop weight in a hurry. But, is it really the most ideal plan for you?
Or, are you just setting yourself up for disaster by using it?
Let’s go over a few of the key things to keep in mind and not regarding this diet approach.
What This Diet Is All About
The cabbage soup diet is not meant to be a long-term approach as it’s to be used over just a seven day period. You’ll be preparing yourself a big batch of cabbage soup and then serving that over the course of the day along with a few other foods that are allowed on the plan.
The calorie intake you use is incredibly low and is not going to foster a healthy metabolism or a safe rate of weight loss.
What You’ll Eat
This plan has you eating cabbage soup along with one other food requirement.
The diet is set out as follows (each day also allows the soup):
Day One – bananas
Day Two – any additional vegetables
Day Three- any fruits and vegetables
Day Four – up to six bananas and fat free milk
Day Five – up to 450 grams of fish
Day Six – beef and vegetables
Day Seven – brown rice, pure fruit juice, and vegetables
- Will promote rapid slimming
- Is relatively easy to follow
- Doesn’t provide sound nutrition
- Will cause fatigue to occur
- Should not be combined with exercise
- Will slow the metabolic rate
- You will gain the weight back after coming off the plan
All in all, the cabbage soup diet is simply not the best diet to consider and is not going to help you move towards your long-term goals in any way, shape or form. It’s definitely one to stay away from if you want to see optimal levels of dieting success.
